Practical training for the safe and efficient on-farm production of bioinputs.

What it is

The On-Farm Bioinputs Workshops are hands-on training programs promoted by the Federal Institute of Avaré, with support from Instituto Folio. They are designed to teach farmers how to multiply microorganisms in a safe, efficient, and low-cost way, strengthening farm autonomy and accelerating the transition to regenerative and organic agriculture.

Why it matters

  • Significantly reduces the cost of bioinputs
  • Increases farmers’ technical autonomy
  • Offers simple, replicable methods adaptable to local realities
  • Contributes to regenerative and sustainable practices
  • Brings science, technology, and field practice closer in an accessible way

What farmers learn

  • Microorganism multiplication through fermentation
  • Quality control and good practices
  • Adapting processes to farm conditions
  • Integrated management and proper use of bioinputs
  • Structuring on-farm biofactories

Testimonials

“A milestone for the settlement.”
“For us, acquiring knowledge and experience in on-farm bioinputs production was extremely important, because this is a grain-producing area with high intensity and heavy use of agrochemicals. We see our biofactory as a milestone for the settlement, especially because it strengthened the role of women.”

Diane de Proença, farmer from Pirituba Settlement (São Paulo)

“A concrete, simple, and viable alternative.”
“The course was outstanding because it presented a concrete and viable alternative for producing quality bioinputs on rural properties. An efficient, simple, and low-cost method that makes a real difference in regenerative practices.”

Maurício Picinin, farmer (RS)

“Safety, efficiency, and real adaptability.”
“We learned, both theoretically and practically, how to multiply microorganisms in a safe and highly efficient way. I was surprised by how simple the process is and by the many possible adaptations for each farmer.”

Rodolfo Mendes Barroso, farmer (GO)
