Who we are
Folio brings together people and knowledge to build a new model of tropical grain agriculture. The Institute is a non-profit science and technology organization created to promote regenerative and organic agriculture based on grains, through the systematization and dissemination of knowledge and the development of a new tropical agronomic model.

He is a co-founding partner of Raiar Orgânicos, one of the country’s largest organic protein companies, and the founder of Instituto Folio. He holds a degree in Production Engineering from UFSCar and built his career at the multinational Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), where he served as Head of Grain Merchandising Operations in Brazil. He was also responsible for implementing grain operations in China and India for the same company.

She holds a degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa. She worked for ten years in the private sector, where she deepened her understanding of Brazilian agribusiness. She worked as a cotton lint and soybean oil trader at Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), served as Sales Manager and Innovation and Projects Specialist in the beverage sector at Ambev, and later coordinated a strategic project for sugarcane mills at Raízen.

He is an executive with more than 18 years of experience in finance, corporate governance, and strategic management. He has served on Boards of Directors and Finance and Audit Committees, with strong leadership skills, experience in team development, and in structuring operational policies and processes. He has worked in large companies in the infrastructure, construction, ESG, and food sectors, with a strong focus on finance, controllership, and corporate management.

She is a journalist with a degree from Fundação Cásper Líbero and holds a postgraduate degree in Behavioral Economics from FIA. She worked in radio and television and contributed to several media outlets between 1997 and 1999 in Europe and the Middle East. She has received four awards for sustainability and agriculture from the newspaper Valor Econômico. Since 2019, she has been dedicated to communicating projects in the new agriculture, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

He holds a degree in Agroindustry Technology from Fatec Capão Bonito and a degree in Biosystems Engineering from the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP). He has expertise in agricultural microbiology and food quality control, with a focus on research into the use of agro-industrial residues for plant fertilization, as well as the formulation of low-cost culture media for the propagation of Bacillus thuringiensis.

He is an agronomist graduated from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He works as a field technician at Folio, as part of the Tropical Transition project, developed in partnership with FELS at the Lagoa do Sino Farm School. He works with sustainable production systems, with a focus on organic regenerative management applied to large-scale crops, especially soybeans and corn.

Agronomy student at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). Currently an intern at Folio, supporting the Transição Tropical (Tropical Transition) project in partnership with the Lagoa do Sino School Farm. His work focuses on sustainable production systems, with an emphasis on the use of biological inputs applied to large-scale crops, primarily soybeans and corn.

Business Administration professional specialized in HR Management and Organizational Psychology. Experienced in finance (AP/AR and billing) and administrative routines, she bridges the gap between financial operations and organizational behavior. Her focus is on optimizing processes and improving overall business outcomes through a strategic approach to both people and numbers.

Our board is composed of agriculture specialists with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, which enriches our work and helps us move more quickly toward our purpose of redirecting Brazilian grain production toward an organic regenerative model.

Mining Engineer with a master’s degree from the Colorado School of Mines, he has over 20 years of leadership experience in the private sector and industry associations. He was the first president of the Brazilian Commission for Resources and Reserves and is Managing Partner of Grupo Frontera, active in fertilizers, mining, and energy transition. He founded Morro Verde Fertilizantes, Brazil’s largest producer of organic phosphate fertilizers, and is co-founder and General Director of Fundação Brasil Meu Amor.

Lawyer and public policy specialist, he serves as Senior Consultant to the WBCSD and CEBDS for COP30. He was Vice-Minister of Strategic Affairs and led the Federal Disarmament Campaign. He has 15 years of executive experience in sustainability, including roles at CSN and Natura. He co-founded Ambition Loop Brasil and coordinates the Climate Governance Forum at FGV-SP. He is a board member of Instituto Ethos and WWF-Brasil.

Holds a PhD in Ecology from UNICAMP, with a sandwich doctorate at Carleton University (Canada) funded by CAPES. She has a master’s degree in Entomology from USP Ribeirão Preto and a degree in Biology from UEMG. She is a researcher at the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM) and a scientist at the Woodwell Climate Research Center in Massachusetts (USA). Her research focuses on the effects of landscape on climate, food production, and biodiversity. In 2018, she received the Marcio Ayres Award from ABECO for the best article published in Perspectives in Ecology and Conservation.

Co-founder and CEO of Biofílica Ambipar Environment, a pioneering company in the development of carbon projects in Brazil. He is also co-founder of Aliança Brazil NBS, which brings together developers committed to a high-integrity carbon credit market. A founding member of Instituto Escolhas and leader of the sustainability committee at the Sociedade Rural Brasileira, he holds a degree in Business Administration from INSPER and a master’s in Public Administration and Environment from Columbia University and the Earth Institute (USA).

Co-founder and CEO of Raiar Orgânicos. With over 25 years of experience in the grain logistics and storage sector, he was founder and CEO of NovaAgri, a company acquired by the Toyota group in 2015. An entrepreneur by nature, he chose to apply his experience in management and innovation to the sustainable food sector, creating Raiar, the largest producer of organic eggs in Brazil—even though he had never owned a chicken before.

With 30 years of experience in investment banking, she has worked in Brazil, the USA, the UK, and Africa. She was Director of Capital Markets at BNDES, also leading the areas of Funding, International Relations, Investor Relations, and Credit Restructuring. Between 2012 and 2023, she served as Director of Energy and Infrastructure for Latin America and later as CEO of Standard Bank Brazil and member of the Executive Committee of Standard Bank International. She is a board member at Iguá Saneamento and Future Climate, and a senior researcher at the Africa Center of CEBRI.

Agronomist (UFMT) with a specialization in Agribusiness Management (UFV), he has 17 years of experience at LDC, working in Market Intelligence, Grain Origination, and Input Trading. Over the last 4 years, he served as Commercial Director, Supply, and Implementation at Sierentz Agro Brasil. He was responsible for risk management, grain and fertilizer logistics, ESG implementation, and strategic projects such as irrigation, crop-livestock integration (ILP), cotton, seeds, and biofactories. Since 2021, he has been an Advisor to Grão Direto, supporting the digitalization and use of AI in grain trading.
